Every birthday you get 254 emails from brands wishing you a great day and offering a discount code.

So the last thing you need is one more of those.

That’s why each year, we come up with a brand new birthday campaign that is actually delightful to receive.

Once, we accidentally made someone join the gym with our campaign.

What we did was send the email exactly halfway through the year. This way we could remind people that the days fly by, and help them reflect on their dreams and goals for the year. So the message was, don’t wait any longer, but start planning the things you really want to do or achieve this year. This may or may not include planning a campervan road trip.

But one person was so inspired by this message that she joined the gym AND enrolled in a course she had been considering to start for a while.

Now I’m not saying our travel inspo email put all of that in her head, but we sure did stop her from putting it off and instead take immediate action. That’s pretty rad.

For this year’s email, we decided to bless our community of hundreds of thousands of travel enthusiasts with a road trip down memory lane. Depending on when you’re born, the email is drenched in 60’s, 70’s, 80’s or 90’s top tier nostalgia.

The email takes you on a tour past the musical Summer hits of your era, the camping food of the day, the most popular van of that time and the destination that was trending when you were a kid.

Exactly the type of email that will bring a smile to your face. Instead of a sales pitch.
